Gerlitzen

Lounge
On the ground floor you will find a large lounge dominated by a traditional Austrian tiled stove. There is also a kitchenette with hob and oven, dishwasher, microwave, fridge, toaster, coffee machine and kettle. There is also a table and chairs, a television and a sofa bed, which can also be used for sleeping. From the window there is a wonderful view of the valley, the lake and the peaks of the Alps.
Tiled stove and heating
The traditional Austrian tiled stove is not only visually beautiful, but also incredibly functional. In winter, you can heat the entire cottage for 12 to 24 hours with one stoking. The wood is available right by the stove and in the woodshed. In addition to this stove, the chalet is heated by a fireplace stove in the basement, electric infrared panels and floor heating in the bathroom.
Grill
Do you feel like having a barbecue with friends? No problem, there is a charcoal grill available in the chalet. If you want to have a barbecue, don’t forget to take charcoal with you. You can have a barbecue at the chalet in any weather and with a charming view.
Facilities of the chalet
In the basement there is a bath in the room and a separate toilet. On the ground floor and on the first floor you will find a bathroom with a shower and toilet.
Washing machine and dryer
A washing machine and dryer are available for free in the basement.
Snowshoes
For mountain hiking in winter, you can rent snowshoes for free, which you can find in the chalet.
Ski storage
In the entrance hall you will find a place to store your skis.

Fully equipped kitchen in the lounge
You can cook your own meals and have a coffee in the kitchen. The nearest restaurant Seepl Hütte Restaurant is about 3 km away. Perfect for a lunchtime walk. During your trips, you can drop in at nearby pubs, for example, at the top of Gerlitzen or Sepl Hütte, or down in Bodensdorf. There is Billa and Lidl in Bodensdorf. We recommend buying food for cooking in advance so you don’t need to go back to the shop for every purchase.
Parking and tolls
There is a smaller parking space for two cars right next to the chalet, and another is 50 meters further.
You must pay a toll to Gerlitzenstrasse. The toll gate is in the middle of the hill. You only pick up a ticket on the way up. You don’t pay anything. A free voucher for passes for 2 cars will be waiting for you in the chalet.
The passability of the road is very good even in winter. However, it is necessary to have snow chains on.
Summer
The advantage of accommodation at high altitude is that the countryside and hiking trails are within easy reach. The Fun Park Gerlitzen Kanzelbahn for children is 3 km from the chalet on foot along the contour line at the terminus of the cable car. In summer you can combine hiking with swimming in Ossiacher See with its famously warm water. There are public beaches all around the lake, with the closest one being Strandbad Toff in Bodensdorf.
Winter
The favourite Gerlitzen ski resort offers 45 km of slopes, a cable car from the lakeside in the valley and chairlifts from the top of Gerlitzen (1,909 m ASL) to all general directions. The resort is suitable for families with children as well as skilled skiers and snowboarders. The views of the Italian and Slovenian Alps, as well as Ossiacher See and Wörthersee, are magnificent.

In the summer and main winter season, the chalet is primarily offered for full-week stays (Saturday – Saturday).
